What is in it for you
You will take on a senior role combining technical leadership, architecture, and direct data engineering work. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation and help guide colleagues in building robust, scalable and well-governed data solutions on our modern data platform.
Our data solutions are developed in-house. You will work across the full lifecycle, from understanding business needs and shaping architecture to developing data products, ensuring high data quality and supporting stable releases into production.
All of this takes place in a welcoming, collaborative and people-centred setting where your experiences are respected, and you can meaningfully shape technical direction and working practices.
The task that awaits you
As Senior Architect, you will act as both technical lead and facilitator. Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning and shaping data architecture with a particular focus on lakehouse architecture and data platform best practices.
- Guiding data product development together with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders.
- Acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders by clarifying requirements, advising on solutions and setting technical direction.
- Supervising and supporting colleagues through sparring, mentoring and code/solution reviews.
- Running planning and estimation activities and helping the team make sound technical trade-offs.
- Ensuring reliable test and release processes, including quality, stability and documentation.
What you bring
You come with solid senior level experience and enjoy facilitating both people and technology.
We imagine that you already have:
- Demonstrated experience facilitating and leading the types of tasks described above in a senior role.
- Comprehensive practical experience implementing lakehouse architectures on current cloud platforms.
- Solid skills in PySpark and SQL, and experience building scalable data pipelines.
- Experience working with data warehouses and integrating multiple data sources.
- Experience designing and working with semantic models, including DAX.
- A structured approach to architecture, data modelling and documentation.
You are comfortable managing projects, enjoy collaborating across roles and seniority levels, and are motivated by building solutions that genuinely create business value and have the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
