We deal with people all over the world – by phone or through personal contact. Our ships visit harbours at all continents and sail all seas, and our chartering and operations offices are in constant dialogue with customers, business partners and authorities in almost every country in the world.

Career opportunities

In NORDEN we offer career opportunities to employees of a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds – at our headquarters in Hellerup, at our offices in Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai, Annapolis, Vancouver, Melbourne, Santiago and Rio de Janeiro and onboard our many ships. NORDEN also offers training as shipping trainee and ships' officer cadet.  

NORDEN supports talent development among employees via close cooperation with institutions such as INSEAD (France), Henley Business School (UK), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), and IMD (Switzerland).

New leadership programme

People make the difference. All companies can in principle buy the same vessels which makes it difficult to stand apart from other shipping companies when it comes to hardware, and it is consequently important for NORDEN not just to recruit and retain the right employees but also to provide them with the possibility to develop and to fulfil their full potential for the benefit of themselves and NORDEN.

To support this aim and to strengthen the management force and good leadership in NORDEN, the Company has initiated a business-oriented leadership development programme.The first group started in 2015, and the next 2
groups will follow in 2016. The programme is based on NORDEN’s 4 values – flexibility, reliability, empathy and ambition. Officers will participate in a variation of the programme which is adapted to the challenges and circumstances they face on board the vessels.

HR closer to the employees

HR Department has moved closer to the business by physically placing HR employees in the various departments. HR thereby plays a more visible role and will to a higher extent act as a sounding board for employees and managers.
