Sales agreement regarding bulk carrier
13 Aug 2009
NORDEN has agreed to sell the bulk carrier NORD EMPATHY.
The sale is expected to generate a profit of approximately USD 12 million, which will be recognised as income at the expected time of delivery of the vessel in the fourth quarter of 2009. As a result, NORDEN makes an upward adjustment of the expected operating profit (EBIT) for 2009 to USD 122-172 million, including profits from the sale of vessels of USD 67 million, against previously expected USD 110-160 million.
NORD EMPATHY is a 55,803 dwt Handymax bulk carrier and was built in 2006. NORDEN acquired the vessel in 2007.
NORDEN will publish its interim report for the first half-year on 19 August, and the expectations will be further elaborated. Webcast and telephone conference on 19 August 2009
