New Chairman of the Danish Shipowners’ Association
At a shipowners’ meeting today, the Danish Shipowners’ Association elected Carsten Mortensen, CEO of Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S, as its new Chairman.
Carsten Mortensen replaces Lars Vang Christensen, who is resigning from his position as CEO of herning shipping a.s. due to a change of ownership. This means that he is leaving the Board of Directors of the Danish Shipowners’ Association.
Carsten Mortensen was elected to the Board of Directors of the Danish Shipowners’ Association in 2005, and he has been Vice Chairman since 2009.
In connection with the change of Chairman, Carsten Mortensen said the following:
”It is with regret that the Danish Shipowners’ Association must bid farewell to Lars Vang Christensen as its Chairman and as a member of the Board. Throughout his time with the Danish Shipowners’ Association, he has contributed to Danish shipping in a dedicated and very competent manner, and he has always emphasised the importance of the industry for the Danish economy. It will now be my task to continue the strategy and direction on which the Board of the Danish Shipowners’ Association are united.
